It’s a slight exaggeration to say that I’ve done absolutely nothing over the past few days, but it’s not far off. A combination of fluctuating fatigue and reluctance to expose myself to cold weather (which would bring about extreme tingles and throat spasms) has meant I’ve not left the house since Saturday and that’s why I’ve not written anything recently because there hasn’t been anything to write home about.
Not that the mundane nature of my newfound existence has stopped me writing over the past few weeks. It’s quite a diverting intellectual exercise to have a go at writing something vaguely interesting with limited source material. But the highlights of my week so far have included a half hour work call, hanging out another load of washing and watching a bit of South African domestic cricket. Oh and I did experience an energetic 12 or so minutes when I was waiting for pasta to cook and completed 50 squats, 5 deadlifts (45kg) and 20 calf raises on each leg. That inspired me to invest in a treadmill, which might give me a chance of running without the aforementioned aversion to the cold.
I’m still experiencing all the debilitating side effects, but seem to have become better at managing them. Perhaps by the time the initial four cycles have come to an end, I’ll have mastered chemo to the point I’m able to function almost normally.
That’s all I’ve got for now. If I manage to turn up, I’ve reason to venture out on each of the next four days, then there’s a treadmill to assemble, so here’s hoping I’ll have something to say soon!
